Agency
community involvement:
Our
organization throughout the years has been recognized for
its contributions, both in time and money to community service
organizations. Below are some highlights from 2005:
Hinrichs
Flanagan Financial started
2005 by sponsoring Disability
Awareness Night, a baseball event with the Charlotte
Knights against the Norfolk Tides (minor league baseball),
in conjunction with Exceptional Parent Magazine. The
event was held for the benefit of the disabled in our community,
their families, and support organizations. We had representation
from such groups as Easter Seals, Grin Kids, Disabled Boy
and Girl Scouts of America, Special Olympics, ARC, Learning
Disability Association, UMAR (housing for the retarded and
disabled), Residential Support Services, Program for Accessible
Living, and more such type organizations.
HFF
sponsored a Habitat House
for the 11th consecutive year. We were also a Platinum
Sponsor of the Habitat
Golf Fundraiser where enough money was raised to
build two new homes, one in Charlotte
and one to be built in El
Salvador.
HFF
was the Diamond sponsor
in October of National
Business Women's Week. This is a week-long
recognition of the contributions that women in business make
in our economy and in our community.
Once
again, Lee Pesakoff led us in our fundraising efforts for
the Spokes Group in conjunction
with the Salvation Army. The purpose of our
fundraising was to purchase bikes for needy children.
This year we set a record, raising $14,840 for the purchase
of 212 bicycles for needy children. Lee also led our effort
in the fundraising for the Arts
and Sciences Council to promote cultural and educational
programs in Charlotte.
Hinrichs
Flanagan Financial in Charlotte is encouraging
local high school students to apply for a $5,000 national
scholarship as part of a three-year, $525,000 national scholarship
program to be administered on behalf of the MassMutual
Foundation by the USTA Tennis & Education Foundation.
